One thing you must do in Savonlinna is the cruise around the Lake Saimaa, which is the biggest lake in Finland. It hosts some typical Finnish animals like the ringed seal, a fish called “Muikku” (in English: vendace) and the whooper swan.

Starting from the marketplace, the trip took about 1 hour. The ship is called IEVA and it is near other two old cruises. The journey isn’t expensive and it’s a wonderful experience.
Navigating near the shore, you can see the typical Finnish landscape. Water, trees and cottages merged together making the lake a wonderful place where quiet and peace reign.
