Markus & Catarina, bringing their interests and passions together, came up with OLO Centre, a place to rest and rediscover what is important in life, through nature sounds and relaxing exercises. Their objective being to bring nature to whom can’t experience it and evolve their mindset, making them a better version of themselves. The residence of the OLO Centre was in the 20th an old school, because at that time there weren’t enough transportation services, bridges or even roads to travel on a daily basis, as there are right now. A lot of people that went to school there, became very happy and helped Markus & Catarina by donating and helping with labour, once they found out that they were turning it into a peaceful place to cure and relax people, from all over the world.
My experience
Before the session, Markus set up the whole equipment, this included four speakers, each in a corner of the room, with two big speakers in the centre of room, to give a 3D sound sensation. We started the session with some exercises, to loosen the body up and to relax ourselves. Later, Catarina gave us blindfolds and blankets, making us lay on soft mats as Markus went to the computer to begin the nature sounds, which were composed and recorded by Markus itself from all over the world. When we all had laid down, Markus began the live composition, which immediately immersed us in a different time and place, making us believe like we were there, with nature itself. I speak for myself when I say this, but maybe even for the others that were there. The experience was mind boggling and very relaxing, it made me focus better and concentrate on things that were important and had to be done. But it also made me realize, how beautiful is nature, how we are ruining it and how we need to treat it better. In conclusion it is a must have experience that will change and at the same time relax you.

Biography
Markus
Began studying music in a Finnish conservatory, both classical and rhythmical music, while also learning how to write music and working with dancers. During school years Markus started a jazz band, had a progressive rock band with some of his friends and did some compositions with classical musicians. When he was 18, Markus and a friend of his came up with an idea to write an orchestra piece, to try something new for just the fun of it, expecting nothing; surprisingly the show did very well and ended up in the newspaper. Later, he went abroad, which was a turning point in his life, finishing his masters in Copenhagen, and moving temporarily to Berlin, where he met Catarina, who had a different background but similar interests.
Catarina
From a small Portuguese island, she went to Lisbon to study social work, mainly psychiatry and mental health. After a little while, she went to Berlin, because she didn’t like the subject that much, and wanted a change from Portuguese life. Catarina finished her studies there and tried to work in different places. She wasn’t happy, because she came to the realization that she was working for an institution and not for the people and their health. After a couple of years, she started her own practice in Berlin, having one-on-one sessions and working with groups, which was life changing for her and made her truly happy.
